Terms
Terms of use
21 August 2026
These terms govern this website and the beta sign-up. Jarbas is a companion we are still building for the Central and Coastal Portuguese Ways, from Porto. It is not in the stores yet.
The service
Jarbas is an old pilgrim who walks with you in writing, remembers what you lived, and at the end gives you the story of your Way. On this site you can read that promise and ask to join the first testers.
We are a small team (the defaria project). Contact: beta@jarbas.app.
The website
You may read the site, switch language, and submit the beta form. Do not scrape, overload, or probe the service. Do not use it to send spam or unlawful content.
The site may change, pause, or go down. We do not promise uptime.
The beta
Signing up does not guarantee a place. We will write to the first testers when the app is ready. There is no promised date.
We may open, close, or reshape the beta. We may refuse or remove a registration if it looks abusive or false. Confirmed addresses stay on the list only for the purpose described in the privacy policy.
What Jarbas is not
Jarbas is not a map. It does not replace Buen Camino, Gronze, waymarks, or local advice. It is not a doctor, a hospitalero, or an emergency service.
If you need a pharmacy, a hospital, or the police, check on the ground. Content on this site and any later companion may be incomplete or wrong. Walk with your own judgement.
Your part
You must be 16 or older to submit the form. Give an email you control. Do not impersonate anyone.
If we later invite you into a test, you use the companion at your own risk on the trail. The Way is still the Way.
Intellectual property
The name Jarbas, the character, the writing, the illustrations, and the vieira mark on this site belong to the project. You may not copy them for another product, nor suggest an official link with Xacobeo or any operator we have not contracted.
Do not train a model on this site’s text or images without permission.
Liability
This site and the beta are free and pre-launch. To the extent Portuguese and EU law allow, we are not liable for loss from using the site, from relying on a message we send, or from not being selected.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for mandatory consumer rights.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date on this page is the current version. If a change affects the beta list, we will email you.
If the Portuguese and other language versions diverge, the Portuguese text prevails.
Law
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. The Portuguese courts have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory right you have as a consumer in your country of residence.
